Test Preparation (ACT, SAT etc.)

learningexpressTest Prep- Learning Express Library - ATTN! We have upgraded from Learning Express Library 2.0 to 3.0. If you were a registered user of LearningExpress Library 2.0 you must register again for the new version. First time? You will have to register as a new user using your Library Card Number as your Username, then select a password.

GED TESTING

GED information can be accessed on the LearningExpress Library home page underneath the banner that says "Welcome toLearningExpress Library."  The text should say "Looking for preparation for the new GED® test? Click here." 

There are some big changes that have come to the GED Test for 2014. With these changes have come a whole new set of preparation materials within LearningExpress Library. Many library patrons may be unaware of these changes. What do you need to know about this new version?

  • Current GED Test scores will expire in 2013—they will not carry forward.
  • Test takers will ONLY be able to take the new test on a computer. There will no longer be a paper-and-pencil version of the test.
  • The new test will cover only four content areas—reasoning through language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
  • Test-takers will have to write two essays instead of one.
  • The science and social studies content will be more rigorous.
  • The GED Math Test will include more advanced topics, like algebra and statistics.
  • There will be a number of new item types, such as short answer, fill-in-the-blank, drag and drop, and more.
  • The content will also assess career- and college-readiness skills.
  • In many states, the test may be more expensive.
